![]() The Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) has retained McCormick Rankin Corporation (MRC) to conduct a Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study to identify capacity, geometric and operational improvements along the Highway 401 corridor from 1.0 km west of Hespeler Road easterly to the west Halton Region boundary, within the Region of Waterloo and the County of Wellington. The study will identify operational and capacity needs, evaluate alternatives and recommend a plan to address the short, medium and long-term needs of the Highway 401 corridor, including the addition of new lanes, rehabilitation/replacement of structures and interchange improvements. A section of the approved Environmental Assessment for Highway 6, Freelton to Guelph, falls within the limits of this study. We encourage you to review this website and provide us with your Comments.
